LEGION SET TO HOST LEGACY LACES AT THE CALIFORNIA STATE GAMES YOUTH RUGBY TOURNAMENT

(SAN DIEGO, CA) –  The San Diego Legion, a Major League Rugby team, and Legacy Laces announce a new partnership dedicated to serving youth with a focus to providing equipment for those in need to participate in team sports.  The Legion and Legacy Laces are teaming up for an official cleat drive on July 13-14 at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos, CA. for the California State Games youth rugby tournament.

“We are excited with be working with an amazing foundation like Legacy Laces again this season,” added Ashley Otte, Exec. GM of SD Legion.  “Our players and staff have supported Legacy Laces from its beginning and are thrilled to introduce them to the California State Games in an effort increase support and grow awareness of the great work they provide the greater San Diego Community. We encourage athletes of all ages to donate their cleats, new and used, to allow more kids the ability of having proper footwear to participate in team sports.”

All tournament participants, family, fans and members of the community are encouraged to donate game-ready cleats July 13-14th during the Cal State Games youth rugby tournament.  Turf and futsal shoes are welcome, please ensure no rips, tears or excessive wear. Donors are invited to share a short note to the future recipient of their shoes by using the notecard found here (www.legacylaces.org/sharemystory).
