Join some of the most dedicated rugby coaches and players this country has to offer at our youth rugby camp in San Diego, CA. Our experienced staff of current and former professional and national team players provides top-notch training for seasoned and new players alike. New in 2019, Nike Rugby Camps is joining forces with San Diego Legion to provide our campers the chance to train with some of the nation’s top rugby talent. Led by veteran Nike Camp Director, Ethan Willis, and Legion Academy Director, Zack Test, players will receive hands-on instruction on all facets of the game in a fun learning environment.

BOYS CAMPS

Nike Rugby Camps has designed and coordinated the finest rugby camp system in the nation, benefiting over players of all ages and skill levels. The Nike Legion Rugby Camp in San Diego offers overnight and day camp options for boys. The overnight camp includes key fundamental drills, fun match play, meals, housing and evening activities. Campers reside in dorms on the beautiful campus of University of San Diego and all rugby activities take place at USD athletic fields. The day camp (9:00am – 4:00pm) includes all rugby instruction, match play and lunch. The boys camps are split up into two groups, youth and high school, to provide a tailored experience to each age level.

GIRLS CAMP

New in 2019, Nike Rugby Camps is proud to offer a new camp for girls, ages 10-18. This camp runs from 9:00am-4:00pm each day and includes instruction on all facets of the game for girls of all skill levels.

SAN DIEGO LEGION PRE-MATCH CLINICS

The Nike Rugby Camps staff are hosting two-hour clinics before three San Diego Legion professional matches in spring. Each player will have the opportunity to train on-site at University of San Diego with our veteran Nike Camp coaches prior to the game. Each camper will receive a Nike Legion Rugby Camp t-shirt and free admission to the game following the clinic. Game tickets are limited to one per camper.

 

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE
  • Instruction from San Diego Legion player coaches and nationally recognized Team USA players on how to be successful on and off the rugby field
  • Skill-based group structuring to maximize the advantage for players of all ages and abilities
  • Small group sizes: approximately an 8:1 player to staff ratio

Founder of Elite Rugby Camps, Ethan Willis has mentored and coached over 5000 young aspiring rugby players. Willis has played a major role in the current explosion of Rugby onto the USA sporting scene.

Ian Denham began playing competitive rugby at 12 years old in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. Ian represented three time Heineken cup champions Leinster at schools, underage and collegiate levels.

ACADEMY DIRECTOR ZACK TEST

Zack Test serves as Academy Director and Backs Coach for San Diego Legion and will assist in leading the Nike Legion Rugby Camps in San Diego.

Nike Rugby Camp offers players the individualized coaching needed to improve their skill-set and gain a deeper understanding of the game. Our curriculum is the perfect blend of expert coaching, constructive drills, and fun evening activities. Ethan Willis has developed a curriculum to suit players of all skill levels and each participant can leave at the end of the week with a greater confidence and passion for the game.
