Born in Fiji, Jale is a proto-type Fijian athlete. Abrasive in his defence, Jale is comfortable playing lock and Flanker but shines as a point of difference flanker with his speed, agility and quickness.
Following a successful pathway through the Fiji Rugby Union player pathway development with the U20 and the Warriors, Jale moved to Brisbane in 2019 to play in the Hospital Cup with the East Tigers. Jale quickly rose through the QRU pathway to earn NRC honours for Brisbane City.
Jale’s point of difference on the field did enough at the club level to gain the interest of Dave Rennie and the Glasgow Warriors for a contract in 2020. Troubled with a high ankle injury and shoulder, Jale could not play most of 2020 at this time at Glasgow.
Jale is now fully recovered and playing for Naitasiri, top flight rugby in Fiji in 2021.
Jale has good athletic foundations having also represented Fiji at the age group level in AFL. Jale’s aggression in defence combined with his 6ft 5 frame make him tough proposition on both sides of the ball.
Jale has great footwork at the line and possesses a good balance of aerial skills, support play, decision making, tactical awareness, repeat efforts and power.
Off the field, Jale has a good value set, entrenched from Fijian values. Jale having recently married is a proud husband and productive family member within his community.
